Welcome to Knitting Arts!

A Place Where Fibers, People
and Creativity Come Together

Knitting Arts is a full service knitting store and studio.

Jan Hurwitz, owner and knitter in chief, describes Knitting Arts as "a haven for knitters, where they can be surrounded by yarn and color."

Sign up for our weekly newsletter and learn about our free weekend workshops and knit-alongs - held most weekends.

Our Knitting Doctor service keeps you on track with your projects, gets you through that 'nagging problem', and there's no charge!

Call the shop to schedule your complementary 30 min. appointment with either Gunilla (Tues. 2-6pm & Sun. 11-5pm), or Maggie (Wed. 2-6pm & Thurs. 11-4pm).

Ongoing free events at Knitting Arts:

Good Works Group
For over a year now, Knitting Arts has been setting aside one Monday evening per month for those who would like to gather and focus on charitable knitting and crochet. The Good Works Group meets on the first Monday of the month from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Knitting Arts. All knitters and crocheters are welcome. Please visit the Good Works section of our website to read about more of our charitable events.

Sock Hop
The second and fourth Tuesday of every month sees the Sock Hop happening - a group of knitters getting together and working on, primarily, socks. All skill levels are welcome, and if you need help with something, it can be provided.

Gunilla hosts this group, 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.

Lace Gathering
Join us on the first and third Tuesday of every month for our Lace Gathering - a group of knitters getting together and working on, primarily, lace. All skill levels are welcome, and if you need help with something, it can be provided.

April hosts this group, 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.

Meetups
Interested in joining other knitters and crocheters in an informal group setting on a Wednesday evening? The Santa Clara County Knitting Meetup and the Santa Clara County Crochet Meetup both meet at Knitting Arts.

For more information visit their sites on meetup.com: --> Knitting Crochet.

Teen & 'Tween Knitting Club
Girls (and guys) just gotta have fun! This is a FREE group, meeting every Friday afternoon from 4-6pm at Knitting Arts. The group is hosted by Knitting Arts teacher Marie Stroughter, who provides guidance to students each week. The club is for those with basic knitting experience, and we ask that you "register" in advance so we can plan space and seating. Participants are encouraged to bring projects they are interested in, or they can choose from a variety of project & pattern books that are geared toward their age group.

TKGA Group Meets Here
Knitspiration of Silicon Valley is a TKGA-affiliated (The Knitting Guild of America) knitting guild for the South Bay / Santa Clara County, California. The purpose of the group is to support and encourage one another towards excellence in knitting through education, group discussion, and sharing.

The group meets monthly at Knitting Arts. Visit their website to see a schedule of upcoming meetings, as well as an archive of past meeting topics and events. All knitters are welcome!
